Aari embroidery is done in stretched fabric. Generally there are two types of frames used in Aari/ maggam embroidery. They are
- Round frame
- Cot shape frame
Round shape frame comes with standard size which is used to hold the usual hand embroidery wooden frame; which is used to hold the tighted cloth for free hand embroidery. We can do the Aari embroidery using with the round shaped Aari frame along with wooden or plastic frame.
Round shape Aari frame is used only for small designs and small sizes of clothes and fabrics.
Cot shaped frames are in various sizes and different sizes of cots are depending on the sizes of fabric. We can also do Aari embroidery on small size of cloths using cot shaped Aari frame. It is used to stretch and hold the fabric.
