Curve Stitch and Square Stitch in Aari Embroidery

Curve and Square Stitch are the chain stitches of Aari Embroidery which is done in curve and square shapes. Practicing chain stitches of  Aari Embroidery in curve and squares indeed to design easily. Trace or draw the above image on fabric and do the chain stitches on the line.  The curve one is like doing continuous chains, but in the square stitch  do end chain in every corner. Make one small chain that is called end chain , when change the direction of chain and then do normal chains. Fix the Fabric for Aari Embroidery

The first step of Aari embroidery is trace the selected design in the cloth to do Aari embroidery. Then fix the embroidery frame whichever that is round shaped small frame or cot shaped frame which is depending on the size of the fabric. The next thing is fix the cloth in the Aari frame. How to fix the cloth in the Aari round free hand embroidery frame. The above video shows how to fix the round frame and cloth to made the Aari embroidery. We can make stitches of embroidery with too tighten and stretchy fabric only. So once you make sure the tighten of the cloths.  Stretch the fabric along the frame sides and hear the drum sound when u tap on the fabric. After that tighten the embroidery hook nuts.  After tighten the hook we shouldn’t stretch the fabric along frame sides, it causes to tear the cloth. 

Aari embroidery

Aari embroidery is the most popular embroidery in India. It also known as Maggam embroidery in Andra Pradesh, Adda work north India regions and Tambour embroidery in France, and other Europe countries. In Aari embroidery long needle with small hook used to decorate the fabric with colorful silk threads, zardosi, Zari thread, beads, kundan stones, sequins, mirror and so on. There are many types of stitches used to design the fabric.

How to Do Aari Embroidery Stitches

First step to do the Aari embroidery or maggam embroidery is fix the Aari frame with cloth. And make ready things need to do Aari embroidery like thread needle and thread. Need more practice and patience to do Aari embroidery. The below video shows how to do Aari embroidery basic stitch. The aari embroidery stitches looks like chain stitch in free hand embroidery.  First hold the needle in one hand usually in right hand. Hold the thread under the fabric and hold its tip in the left hand.  Punch the needle on the fabric and pull the thread from the bottom of the fabric using the hook of the needle. When punch the needle put the thread in the hook of the needle using left hand and catch the thread in the needle. After pulled the thread on the fabric , move needle to small distance  and rotate the needle clockwise and anti clockwise then punch there. This cycle is one chain. Repeat the chain stitch with equal distance to form beautiful stitches. ...
